The Cosmelan mask is applied during a single in-clinic appointment and remains on the skin for a set period, typically around eight hours, before being removed at home. During this time, you may experience warmth, tingling, redness, or tightness, which is expected.
Downtime & peeling
Following removal of the mask, redness, sensitivity, and visible peeling are common, particularly in the first week. This settles gradually as the skin renews. Downtime varies, and recovery will be discussed during your consultation.
At-home treatment phase
A structured at-home protocol follows and continues for several months. This phase is essential for regulating pigment production, supporting skin recovery, and reducing the risk of recurrence. Cosmelan is a complete treatment programme spanning up to six months.
